PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the following resolution was duly adopted by the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Beekman Fire District, Town of Beekman, County of Dutchess, New York, at a meeting held on August 28, 2024.
WHEREAS in the judgment of the Board of Fire Commissioners the 1997 Freightliner Tanker (34-31) is determined to be obsolete, and the Fire District is in need of a new tanker; and
WHEREAS it is in the interest of the residents and taxpayers of the District for such vehicle to be sold for the best price obtainable and the most beneficial terms to such residents and taxpayers; and
WHEREAS, it is the consensus of the Board of Fire Commissioners that such vehicle is valued at more than $20,000.00, but less than $100,000.00, and as such its sale is subject to permissive referendum in accordance with New York Town Law Section 176 (23).
NOW THEREFORE IT IS RESOLVED THAT the District’s 1997 Freightliner Tanker (34-31) is hereby declared to be surplus equipment of the District and is determined to be obsolete, and therefore no longer necessary for the purposes of the Fire District, and
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED, that such vehicle shall be sold upon the best price obtainable and most beneficial terms in the public interest as determined by the Board of Fire Commissioners.
THIS RESOLUTION for sale of such vehicle is adopted subject to a permissive referendum pursuant to General Municipal Law Article 2, Section 6-g.
