The Beekman Fire District is a Volunteer Fire Department. This means that there are no career firefighters that staff the station. It relies solely on volunteers from the community to mitigate emergencies. No prior training is required. All training is provided to the volunteer free of charge. Also, not every volunteer has to run into burning buildings. There are jobs for everyone.
Some Basic requirements for becoming a member:
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Must be willing to work as a team
- Must live within 2 miles from the District Line
